You can download the raster data containing the Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for Campina Grande (2020) by clicking HERE. The format is a .tiff file. These are gridded pixels at a resolution of 30.0m. Each grid refers to the presence and strength of vegetation for a given pixel. The higher the value means the presence of vegetation is strong and vice versa.
Original Source: The data was derived from satellite images from Earth Explorer (USGS) and cropped to Campina Grande. Note that the normalised difference vegetation indices are specifically generated from raw image’s with bands 4 (Red) and 5 (Near infrared [NIR]) – these must be processed to derived the NDVI raster using the formula: NDVI = (NIR – Red)/(NIR + Red)
