You can download the raster data containing the Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for Recife (2020) by clicking HERE. The format is a .tiff file. These are gridded pixels at a resolution of 30.0m. Each grid refers to the presence and strength of vegetation for a given pixel. The higher the value means the presence of vegetation is strong and vice versa.

Original Source: The data was derived from satellite images from Earth Explorer (USGS) and cropped to Recife. Note that the normalised difference vegetation indices are specifically generated from raw image’s with bands 4 (Red) and 5 (Near infrared [NIR]) – these must be processed to derived the NDVI raster using the formula: NDVI = (NIR – Red)/(NIR + Red)
